Pam Shriver has won 133 top-class titles, which includes 21 women's doubles titles and one mixed doubles title at Grand Slam tournaments. She also won a women's doubles gold medal during the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul.

Pam Shriver reached the women's single finals of 1978 US Open, which was her first tournament. She won against Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova in a semi-final with 7-6, 7-6. In the finals, she lost against  Chris Evert with 7–5, 6–4.

In the year 1996, she announced her retirement from the tennis. Later, she worked as television ABC, CBS, and ESPN in the United States, the BBC in the United Kingdom, and Seven Network Sport in Australia.
